About Splatter Scoop

Splatter Scoop reads the day’s gore and horror-film news so you do not have to. Each weekday an editor goes through announcements, festival programs, distribution filings and reporting from across the genre, picks what matters, and writes it up in our own words. Every item says why it matters and links to whoever reported it first.

We take the craft seriously. Practical-effects work gets the same respect a cinematographer’s work gets anywhere else, and a film’s rating or festival reception is reported as fact, not played for shock value.

Every Monday morning the best of the week arrives in one email, The weekly digest. It is written for genre fans, festival programmers, effects artists, distributors and anyone who follows horror seriously.
